Standard Insurance's Cavite facility can revive wrecked motorcycles

Earlier this week, we were invited to the official endorsement of the Standard Insurance’s Technical and Training Center in Naic, Cavite, as the second Toyota Motor Philippines’ End of Life Vehicle (ELV) Dismantling Facility in the country. Basically, these facilities specialize in the eco-friendly dismantling of vehicles damaged by accidents or natural disasters. They meticulously salvage, repair, and clean every reusable component, with all other materials being responsibly sold as scrap for recycling.

Now, what also caught my attention was the sheer number of totaled motorcycles in the yard. During a rare opportunity, MotoPinas.com sat down with Standard Insurance patriarch, Ernesto Echauz. He informed us that the company proudly owns the Philippines’ sole motorcycle frame straightening bench. According to Echauz, this unique tool allows them to precisely repair motorcycles with bent frames, restoring them to “like brand new” condition, before reselling them in the second-hand market at reasonable prices.
Just like its auto repair garage, Standard Insurance boasts an extensive parts bin for numerous motorcycle models, enabling efficient repairs of damaged bikes, including testing to meet safety requirements.
