New Suzuki SV-7GX launched at EICMA
Back in 2022, many thought it was the end of Suzuki’s V-twin era when the V-Strom 800DE debuted with a 776cc parallel-twin, ditching the iconic “V” configuration. Now, the Hamamatsu-based manufacturer appears to have found a perfect reason to keep the V-twin alive with the launch of its new sport-tourer, the SV-7GX, unveiled at EICMA.
Keeping the V-twin alive
According to Suzuki, the new SV-7GX will be available internationally in 2026. At its core is a 645cc liquid-cooled DOHC V-twin producing 70 PS at 8,800 rpm and 62 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Sound familiar? That’s because it’s the same V-twin engine that powered the V-Strom 650, now repurposed for Suzuki’s latest sport-tourer.
But beyond the tried-and-tested V-twin, Suzuki has added a suite of modern features for today’s riders. These include a ride-by-wire throttle, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (riding modes), traction control, and a quickshifter, which are all integrated into the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) for enhanced control and versatility.

The new SV-7GX also features low RPM assist, USB-C outlet, compact projector LED headlight, 4.2 TFT panel with smartphone connectivity, handguards, adjustable windscreen, and many more. Philippine availability and pricing will be announced by Suzuki PH.
