Honda shows off futuristic motorcycle with dual engines at the 2025 JMS
This year’s Japan Mobility Show (JMS) once again highlighted Japan’s finest innovations in mobility, both for today and the future. For Honda, it offered a glimpse into what the brand’s next-generation motorcycles could look like five years from now.
EV Outlier Concept, e-MTB
Honda is taking bold strides into the future of two-wheeled mobility with the world debut of two groundbreaking electric concepts: the EV Outlier Concept and the Honda e-MTB Prototype.
Leading the charge is the EV Outlier Concept, a visionary glimpse into what motorcycles could look like by 2030 and beyond. The concept takes full advantage of the design freedom that electric vehicles allow, incorporating in-wheel motors in both the front and rear. This setup enables a low, dynamic profile and a futuristic stance that redefines traditional motorcycle proportions. The Outlier’s minimalist yet muscular styling hints at Honda’s direction toward cleaner, smarter, and more expressive mobility, blending cutting-edge engineering with unmistakable aesthetic appeal.
Sharing the spotlight is the Honda e-MTB Prototype, which marks its world premiere ahead of an anticipated European release in 2026. Designed to bring the thrill of the outdoors to a broader audience, the e-MTB combines motorcycle-inspired performance with mountain bike agility. Its carbon fiber frame provides a lightweight yet rigid structure for precise handling, while the integrated electric assist system delivers seamless power for uphill climbs and extended trail adventures.
