Vespa World Days Spain with strong Pinoy contingent
Vespa World Days (VWD) celebrates its return to Spain after 25 years, and demonstrating a strong and consistent presence, for the second year in a row, over 30 Filipino Vespa fanatics have traveled to join the global celebration happening from May 1st to 4th. For the 2025 Vespa World Days, the picturesque Asturian city of Gijón, Spain, is rolling out the welcome mat. The central hub of all the action will be the Vespa Village, nestled in the Luis Adaro Exhibition Centre, which is easily accessible near Gijón’s city center. This spacious venue is ideal for the diverse lineup of events planned, including lively live music performances, a variety of interesting stands, and a tempting food and beverage zone. It's also the starting point for the highly anticipated Vespa Tours – fantastic excursions designed to let riders discover the scenic beauty of the Asturias region and the captivating Atlantic coast.
Staying true to the spirit of Vespa World Days, the main event everyone’s waiting for is the Vespa Parade on Saturday, May 3rd. Imagine thousands upon thousands of passionate Vespa lovers, proudly riding their scooters from every decade of this iconic brand, creating a vibrant and joyous spectacle as they cruise through the streets of Gijón. Following the record-smashing parade in Pontedera last year, where over 15,000 Vespas stretched for more than 16 kilometers, organizers are anticipating another record-breaking turnout this year, with our very own Pinoy delegation playing a part in making this another historic event for Vespa.
Wrapping up the festivities will be the awarding of the Vespa Trophy on Sunday, May 4th. This is a big deal – a touring trophy that pits Vespa Club members in a fun but competitive challenge. To win, they need to document every step of their Vespa ride all the way to Gijón, capturing memories with photos and collecting special stamps in their Travel Books.
The Vespa World Days honors the Vespa—a timeless Italian icon loved globally beyond simple transport. Its passionate owners formed the first clubs in 1946, the scooter’s birth year, leading to the first international rally in Paris in 1954. Last year, Vespa’s birthplace, Pontedera, hosted a record 30,000+ for the 70th Vespa World Days. Today, millions of fans in 66 countries are connected through the Vespa World Club.
