A Z1100 may be coming soon from Kawasaki
In October 2024, Kawasaki unveiled the 2025 Versys 1100, a notable update featuring a larger 1,099cc engine from the Akashi manufacturer in its touring model. This same engine was subsequently adopted for the Ninja 1000SX SE, which then made its Philippine debut last April during the Makina Moto Expo.
According to recent documents filed in California, Kawasaki appears set to introduce the Z1100, the third motorcycle model that will utilize their 1,099cc engine, joining the Versys 1100 and Ninja 1000SX SE with this power plant.

Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition
The information surfaced in documents that were recently published by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), a database that tracks vehicle emissions during operation. Among the motorcycles listed, one entry identified as “ZR1100HT” has generated significant interest. Kawasaki’s past naming conventions suggest this designation points to a Z1100 model. For instance, the early 2000s Z1000 carried the code ZR1000-A1, with subsequent years following a similar pattern.
Given that the CARB filing only references the ZR1100HT designation, concrete information on the Z1100’s aesthetics, electronic suite, and features is currently lacking. Nevertheless, if it follows the trend set by the Ninja 1000 SE and Versys 1100, the new Z1100 is expected to offer a robust power figure, potentially in the region of 133 PS, an upgrade from the previous model's 118 horsepower.
For our naked bike enthusiasts, this potential Z1100 from Kawasaki is definitely one to watch closely.
