F 450 GS now in the PH, available in two variants
A few years ago, entry-level adventure bikes were still a niche segment. Then CFMOTO launched the 450MT, and suddenly everybody wanted in.
The 450MT showed that an adventure bike doesn’t have to be intimidating. It can tackle gnarly adventures on the weekend, then filter through Metro Manila traffic during the week, and still be manageable for riders moving up from smaller motorcycles. That formula has clearly struck a chord. According to Motostrada, nearly 4,000 units of the 450MT have already been sold in the Philippines since its debut.
It also says a lot about where the market is headed, and almost every motorcycle brand in the country is now offering their entry-level dual-sport/adventure bike.
BMW Motorrad PH is now joining that fight with the all-new F 450 GS.
F 450 GS Style Exclusive
First revealed as a concept in 2024, the production model takes styling cues from the R 1300 GS and F 900 GS while introducing a brand-new 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. It produces 48 PS and 43 Nm of torque, and BMW claims it can return 26.3 km/L fuel economy, giving the bike a range of more than 350 km from its 14-liter fuel tank. The F 450 GS tips the scales at 178 kg.
Another talking point is its 135-degree crankpin offset, a layout rarely seen in this segment. In simple terms, this setup gives a more distinctive engine feel and exhaust note, with fewer vibrations than a conventional parallel-twin.
The F 450 GS rides on an all-new steel lattice frame with a 43 mm KYB upside-down fork and KYB rear monoshock. The Sport variant adds adjustable suspension, while BMW says its rally-inspired rear damping system is a first in the class.
F 450 GS Style Sport
Designed for both on and off-road, the bike comes with an 845 mm seat height, with lower and taller seats available as accessories. It rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast aluminum wheels wrapped in tubeless dual-purpose tires. Riders who spend more time off the pavement can opt for the optional wire-spoke wheels.
Other standard equipment includes Brembo brakes, ABS Pro, traction control, Dynamic Brake Control, engine drag torque control, quick shifter, and riding modes: Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro. It also gets a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, and full LED lighting.
BMW Motorrad Philippines offers the F 450 GS in two variants. The Exclusive in Cosmic Black, priced at PHP 498,000, while the Sport in Racing Red carries a sticker price of PHP 548,000.
Both variants come with a three-year or 100,000-kilometer comprehensive warranty, whichever comes first.
