Fifth-gen Ducati Monster coming soon for 2026
Ducati has unveiled the 2026 Monster, marking the fifth generation of its iconic naked bike line and setting a new standard for both performance and practicality. While the Monster has always embodied Ducati’s “everything you need, nothing more” philosophy, this latest iteration redefines that balance, especially with its class-leading 45,000 km (28,000 mi) valve clearance service interval, a massive leap from the roughly 12,000 km interval of earlier model Ducati Monsters.
At the heart of the 2026 Monster is the all-new V2 engine with IVT (Intake Variable Timing), delivering 111 hp at 9,000 rpm and 10 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. This powerplant not only enhances low-end smoothness and high-rev excitement but also dramatically cuts ownership costs thanks to its extended maintenance schedule, the longest ever for a Ducati Monster.
Compared to its predecessors, which demanded more frequent valve checks, the new V2 reflects Ducati’s commitment to real-world usability without sacrificing performance. Lighter by nearly six kilograms than the previous Testastretta engine, it also helps make this the lightest four-valve Monster ever, tipping the scales at just 175 kg dry.
The new Monster retains Ducati’s trademark sporty DNA with a monocoque frame, Showa suspension, Brembo brakes, and a 6-axis IMU governing advanced rider aids. Its design pays homage to the 1992 original, featuring muscular yet compact proportions, full LED lighting, and signature “bison-back” tank lines.
In essence, the 2026 Ducati Monster brings timeless Italian design, modern technology, and record-setting reliability together, proving that even icons can evolve without losing their soul.
