CFMOTO and Brembo join forces to develop future motorcycles together
CFMOTO is aiming higher, and its new partnership with Italian braking components giant, Brembo, shows it’s ready to take the fight to Japanese and European brands.
The two companies recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement that goes well beyond a typical supplier relationship. Rather than simply equipping its motorcycles with Brembo-stamped calipers, CFMOTO will work with the Italian company from the earliest stages of motorcycle development to create complete braking systems for its future mid and large displacement models.
It might sound like a minor detail on paper, but in reality, it’s actually a big deal. On many motorcycles, braking components are chosen after most of the bike has already been engineered. Under this new partnership, Brembo will be involved from the start, allowing the braking system to be developed alongside the chassis, suspension, electronics, and the bike’s overall performance targets.
So, what does that mean for buyers? Future CFMOTO motorcycles won’t just carry the Brembo badge on their calipers. They could also benefit from braking systems that are fine-tuned to each model, with improved brake feel, more refined ABS tuning, and overall performance that’s been engineered as part of the motorcycle rather than added later.
The deal also shows just how much CFMOTO has evolved. The company is no longer content building budget motorcycles. Today, it offers feature-packed adventure bikes, naked bikes, and sportbikes that compete with established Japanese and European rivals, while projects like the V4-powered SR-RR hint at even bigger ambitions. Yet despite moving upmarket, CFMOTO has held on to one of its biggest strengths, which is giving buyers premium hardware without the premium price tag. Developing future motorcycles alongside Brembo could push that formula even further.
The agreement also extends beyond braking systems. Both companies say they will collaborate on technology development, engineering expertise, and brand initiatives, making this a long-term partnership rather than a simple supply deal.
Exactly which motorcycles will be the first to benefit remains to be seen. If CFMOTO continues its aggressive pricing strategy, future models could become even more attractive to buyers looking for premium engineering and performance without paying for Japanese or European price tags.
