2025 CIMA sees the unveiling of the new CB500 Super Four
Honda has officially unveiled the CB500 Super Four, a Universal Japanese Motorcycle (UJM) that pays homage to the legendary CB900F of the 1970s and ’80s. The new model was introduced at the China International Motorcycle Exhibition (CIMA) and immediately stands out in the 500cc segment, thanks to its distinctive inline four-cylinder engine, which is a notable departure from the parallel twins typically found in this class.
While information is still scarce at the moment, onlookers at CIMA claim that this new CB500 Super Four is powered by a 502cc inline-4 engine capable of producing around 80 PS, delivering a more premium feel compared to other mid-size motorcycles.
Its diamond-type steel frame uses the engine as a stressed member, contributing to lightweight agility and precise handling. The bike also features upside-down front forks and a cast aluminum rear swingarm, which enhances both its sporty aesthetics and performance. Braking is handled by Nissin calipers, with radially mounted four-piston units at the front and a two-piston sliding caliper at the rear.
One of the bike’s standout innovations is the optional E-Clutch system. Unlike traditional automatic gearboxes, the E-Clutch allows the rider to shift gears without manually operating the clutch lever, reducing fatigue in urban traffic while still offering full manual control when desired.
While Honda has not confirmed full availability as of this writing, the CB500 Super Four is expected to launch in key markets, including China and Japan, in 2026.
