Honda CB1000F SE teased at the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race
Earlier this month, Honda announced that it won the grueling Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race, and it’s the manufacturer’s 31st time to dominate the event. Aside from its win, Honda also took the opportunity to tease fans with its concept CB1000F SE—which is basically the CB1000F with a retro-inspired headlight cowl and paint scheme.
Honda teased the concept CB1000F back in March, with its timeless Universal Japanese Motorcycle (UJM) look at the 2025 Osaka Motorcycle Show.
Drawing heavily from the late 1970s and early 1980s, the CB1000F SE is styled to mimic the iconic CB1100F, complete with its characteristic silver paint and blue striping. This retro naked bike is equipped with an inline four-cylinder engine from the CB1000 Hornet.
To suit its distinct character, the CB1000F SE seems to omit the exhaust valve of the Hornet, resulting in a different power delivery. Also, it utilizes Nissin’s four-piston front brake calipers instead of the Brembo calipers found on its sibling. A key retro element exclusive to the SE model is the headlight cowl—a popular motorcycle design feature from 50 years ago.
Equipped with a 150-horsepower engine from the CBR1000RR Fireblade and featuring Showa inverted shocks and a twin-spar frame, the CB1000F SE appears ready for production. Despite its current status as a concept bike, the widespread availability of its components from existing Honda models indicates an imminent public release.
If priced competitively, the CB1000F SE, along with the CB1000F, could present a challenge to the Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT, offering riders a superbike-powered retro option in the market.
