BMW R 12 G/S officially launched in PH, priced at PHP 1.755M
BMW Motorrad’s long-standing legacy in off-road motorsport continues with the arrival of the new BMW R 12 G/S in the Philippines, officially introduced by SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the authorized importer and distributor of BMW Motorrad in the country.
BMW’s reputation in off-road performance dates back decades, anchored by its signature high-torque boxer engine and durable shaft drive system. In 1980, the brand introduced the revolutionary R 80 G/S—its first series-production enduro powered by a boxer engine. The “G/S,” short for the German Gelände/Straße (off-road/street), embodied a rare balance of touring comfort, off-road capability, and dynamic road performance.

The new BMW R 12 G/S pays tribute to that heritage while integrating modern engineering and technology. Limited to just 10 units locally, the model is offered exclusively in the Option 719 Sandrover Matt/Aragonite variant, priced at PHP 1,755,000.
Powering the R 12 G/S is a 1,170cc air/oil-cooled boxer engine producing 109 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The model features long-travel suspension, cross-spoke wheels, and a compact cockpit fairing, reinforcing its enduro-ready stance.
All Philippine units come standard with the Enduro Package Pro, which includes 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels fitted with knobby tires, handguards, a reinforced belly pan, a 20mm handlebar riser, and an 875mm seat height.

Modern rider aids include Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro riding modes, Dynamic Traction Control, engine drag torque control, ABS Pro, and Shift Assistant Pro. LED lighting with BMW’s signature “X” headlight design and Keyless Ride technology complete the package.
The new BMW R 12 G/S is backed by a five-year or 500,000-kilometer comprehensive BMW Motorrad warranty.
