890 SMT coming to the Philippines
The 2023 launch of the KTM 890 SMT represented an intriguing evolution of their adventure lineup. At its core, the 890 SMT leverages the proven mechanicals and engaging character of the 890 Adventure. However, by equipping it with street-biased 17-inch alloy wheels, KTM effectively recalibrated its focus towards on-road performance. This strategic adaptation created a unique motorcycle that offers riders the comfortable riding position and potent engine of an adventure bike, but with the more agile and responsive handling typically associated with a supermoto, making it a versatile option for spirited (a.k.a. hooligan) road riding.

At this year’s edition of the Makina Moto Expo, which drew almost 75,000 in attendance, our friends from Lucky MAPI (new KTM Philippines distributor) told MotoPinas.com that the 890 SMT will be landing soon in the country, to the delight of Pinoy supermoto fans. The SRP: PHP 959,000.
The 890 SMT is not actually a supermoto, but a “Supermoto Touring” type of bike, according to KTM. It’s powered by a retuned 889cc LC8c parallel twin engine, which churns up to 105 hp at 8,000 rpm. Other features include a 15.8-liter fuel tank, aero-optimized smoked windshield, CroMo steel frame, WP Apex suspension, 5” TFT dashboard with smartphone connectivity, riding modes with optional Track Mode, ABS, traction control, quickshifter, and many more.

The 890 SMT, according to Lucky MAPI, should arrive in the country by next month.
