No parts supply shortage for PH customers, says KTM
This month, another blow came to KTM’s headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria, as they had to stop the production line of new motorcycles due to a lack of critical parts needed in the assembly process. KTM’s CEO, Gottfried Neumeister, was quoted as saying, “Due to serious supply chain problems, it is impossible to continue production as planned,” and continued to say that production will be suspended until July 27, 2025.
For anyone who loves their KTM, this news is definitely unsettling, and that goes double for our passionate Pinoy KTM owners here in the country.
Here’s the good news: the Philippines is NOT affected by the supply chain problems faced by its Mattighofen facility and is BAU (business as usual), as confirmed by one of KTM PH’s bosses, Dan Abelarde.
“The production run, ONLY IN AUSTRIA, has been rescheduled to July this year, mainly due to supply chain bottlenecks/delays of the multiple parts suppliers of KTM,” Abelarde told MotoPinas.com. “However, the production in India for the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R, X, Enduro R, and SMC R is currently ongoing and totally not affected by this at all…the first shipments of these bikes are in transit, arriving Week 3 of May.”
Abelarde also assured their Pinoy customers that the production of KTM’s 790 lineup (by CFMOTO in China) is NOT in any way affected by the supply chain issues in Austria.
“Unless you are already waiting for the 2025 KTM 890 Adventure R, the 1390 Adventure R, or the 2026 [model year] KTM or Husqvarna dirtbikes, you will only have to wait just a bit longer,” added Abelarde.
