Free motorcycle helmet to celebrate Women's Month
Recognizing the National Women’s Month, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Ipil District Office distributed free helmets to female motorcycle drivers and backriders who were without adequate head protection, promoting both road safety and women’s empowerment.
In line with the DOTr and the LTO’s goal to improve road safety and enforce helmet use for the protection of motorcyclists, this initiative is aimed at strengthening the road safety programs in Region IX.

Alongside the free helmet distribution, the LTO Ipil District Office used the opportunity to educate motorists on the critical role of helmets in preventing serious motorcycle injuries.
Cheap helmet is better than no helmet
We acknowledge that the distributed helmets from the LTO Ipil District Office appear to be of lower quality compared to established brands. However, as our article “Inexpensive helmet is better than NO helmet” emphasizes, any head protection is superior to none at all in mitigating head injuries. Ultimately, motorcycle rider safety, including that of passengers, is the rider’s responsibility, so wearing a helmet is non-negotiable.
