Mayor Honey Lacuna stops the implementation of MC clamping in Manila
On April 15, 2024, Manila Ordinance 8998, which amended Sections 2 and 4 of Ordinance No. 8109, took effect. The new ordinance basically included motorcycles among the types of vehicles that are subject to clamping when parked in a non-designated parking area.

Yesterday, Manila Mayor, Honey Lacuna-Pangan, ordered to stop the clamping of motorcycles due to improper implementation.
“I ordered to stop the implementation of the said ordinance due to reports that we received of improper implementation,” said the Mayor through her official social media page.
The Mayor also said that she directed Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) Director Dennis Viaje to immediately investigate these reports of improper implementation of the clamping of motorcycles.
Under the new ordinance, owners will have to pay PHP 900.00 if their motorcycle is clamped by MTPB personnel due to illegal parking.
