NLEX announces new toll fee hike for 2026
The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has approved a toll rate increase for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), allowing NLEX Corporation to implement an additional PHP 6.00 in the open system and PHP 0.26 per kilometer in the closed system, covering Bocaue onwards. The new rates will take effect on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
NLEX said the toll adjustment was implemented in compliance with the prescribed regulatory process and underwent a comprehensive review by the TRB. The increase represents the second and final tranche of the periodic toll rate adjustments originally scheduled for 2023. To mitigate the impact on motorists, the implementation was previously deferred and rolled out in two phases.
Under the revised toll matrix, motorists traveling within the open system will pay an additional PHP 6.00 for Class 1 vehicles (big bikes, cars and SUVs), PHP 12.00 for Class 2 vehicles (buses and light trucks), and PHP 16.00 for Class 3 vehicles.
The NLEX open system covers the stretch from Metro Manila—serving Navotas, Valenzuela, and Caloocan—to Marilao, Bulacan. The closed system, meanwhile, applies to the section from Bocaue, Bulacan, to Sta. Ines in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, including the Subic–Tipo segment.
Motorists traveling the full length of NLEX from Metro Manila to Mabalacat City will incur an additional toll of PHP 24.00 for Class 1 vehicles, PHP 60.00 for Class 2 vehicles, and PHP 72.00 for Class 3 vehicles.
NLEX Corporation said the periodic toll adjustments are necessary to ensure the continued provision of safe, efficient, and high-quality expressway services, while also supporting the long-term sustainability of privately funded infrastructure.
To help mitigate the impact of the increase on inflation and support food price stability, the company will continue implementing the government’s toll rebate program for vehicles transporting agricultural goods that are duly accredited by the Department of Agriculture.
