Marilao NB back to normal operations says NLEX

NLEX Corporation has resumed normal operations on all four northbound lanes of the Marilao Interchange, lifting the toll holiday from Balintawak to Meycauayan. This action comes less than four days after NLEX Corp. heeded the Department of Transportation (DOTr) demand for a toll-free period due to traffic disruptions.

The full reopening, which took effect earlier today at 6 AM, followed the repair of the Marilao Interchange Bridge, which was severely damaged on March 19 by an over-height truck that passed NLEX security. The DOTr’s toll-free demand, issued on March 21 by Secretary Vince Dizon, was aimed at pacifying the frustration of motorists trapped in the traffic congestion caused by the resulting lane closures.

Originally, NLEX Corporation estimated repairs could take up to three weeks.
