Suzuki and DES partners in this year's International Coastal Cleanup
Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) joined thousands of volunteers in the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) 2025, held on September 20 in Panglao, Bohol. Partnering with DES Strong Motors Corporation, an authorized dealer of Suzuki Marine, Automobile, and Motorcycle products, the initiative highlighted the brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.

The annual ICC in Panglao, led by The Bellevue Resort, gathered more than 1,200 participants from schools, civic groups, local government units, and private companies with a shared goal of protecting the country’s coastal and marine ecosystems. This year’s strong youth turnout says a lot about the growing call for environmental awareness among the next generation.
Suzuki Philippines was represented by Yukio Sato, General Manager for After-Sales Service and Marine Division, and Norihide Takei, Director and General Manager for the Automobile Division. They joined DES Strong Motors employees in the cleanup, which was divided into three efforts: a 2-kilometer shoreline sweep at Doljo Beach, an underwater debris removal drive, and a waste segregation and audit initiative led by Plastic Free Bohol.

The collective work yielded 194 sacks of non-biodegradable waste weighing 954.38 kilograms, including plastics, glass, metals, and hazardous materials, all of which were processed for proper disposal with the support of the Panglao local government.
For Suzuki and its partners, the effort went beyond cleanup, it was a demonstration of shared responsibility for the environment. Volunteers also engaged in interactive activities, while Suzuki provided merchandise as tokens of appreciation.

Through this initiative, Suzuki Philippines reinforced its “By Your Side” philosophy, extending its role beyond mobility by supporting communities and advancing environmental protection.
