Triumph dirtbikes to land in the PH by end of 2024

Back in 2021, Triumph Motorcycles announced that it was developing competition motorcycles for both motocross (MX) and enduro racing. In December of 2022, the Hinckley-based company made its off-road racing program official with the announcement of the Triumph Racing Factory Team, with no less than 7-time AMA MX champion Ricky Carmichael putting his insights on the development of the upcoming dirtbike.

Then, in November 2023, Triumph unveiled the TF 250-X. Now, the question is, will Triumph Motorcycles PH bring the TF 250-X (or equivalent enduro bike) into the country? The answer is yes.

Answering questions from the media during Friday’s official Philippine launching of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, Sammy Montecastro, General Manager of Triumph Motorcycles Philippines, confirmed that their dirtbike lineup will be landing on PH shores by December of this year. Montecastro also added that Triumph is currently consulting with relevant stakeholders on what type of dirtbike they would bring in, but is leaning towards enduro bikes.

“We are just consulting all of you influencers and experts on what model to bring in. So far, we’re thinking of bringing in only enduro bikes, not really the MX [bikes]. Maybe just a small number of MX bikes but more on enduro bikes,” said Montecastro.

Speaking of enduro bikes, MotoPinas.com asked if Triumph Motorcycles is developing 2-stroke enduro bikes that will compete with staples like KTM, GASGAS, Sherco and Husqvarna, Montecastro simply answered “2-strokes are out of the question.”
