A new Royal Enfield model coming this October
It was March 2024 when Motociclista Scatola, Inc., (MSI) a.k.a. Royal Enfield Pilipinas, supposedly launched the Himalayan 450 at the Inside Racing Bike Fest (IRBF). Unfortunately for our friends at MSI, issues with the team that handled their logistics resulted in the delay of the Himalayan 450’s delivery and they have to forgo the bike’s actual unveiling.
The next month, Royal Enfield tried to make up for the lost opportunity, and this time, launched the updated Bullet 350.
With 2025 just around the corner, manufacturers are now busy readying their newest models or updates, and Royal Enfield seems to be ahead of the pack.
Fresh from the recent global Royal Enfield One Ride, MSI is scheduled to launch a new model this October. But what model would it be?
Guerilla 450
With the new 450 platform that is used by the Himalayan, it’s just practical for the Indians to maximize it and make a full lineup based on that platform. As it turns out, a roadster version of the Himalayan 450 is already available in India and it’s called the Guerilla 450.
Like its adventure bike sibling, the Guerilla 450 is also powered by the 452 cc Sherpa engine capable of producing up to 40 Ps of power and 40 Nm of torque. It also features two riding modes, “Tripper” TFT dashboard with Bluetooth connectivity, 17-inch alloy wheels, twin-spar frame, Showa suspension and many more.
The Guerilla 450 is offered in India in 5 colors to choose from.
Shotgun 650
It was 2017 when Royal Enfield first announced its return to middleweight motorcycles, with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Then, in 2023 – 5 years after the first modern 650s were sold in the market – Royal Enfield introduced the Shotgun 650 and called it the “neo-dystopian” cruiser.
Like any cruiser motorcycle, the Shotgun 650 was designed to be fully customizable by its owner. Additionally, Royal Enfield engineers designed it to be a practical bike, which, according to them, is “capable of transforming from a classic single-seater to a dual-seater to a weekend tourer in minutes.”
It is powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin air and oil-cooled engine that powers the Interceptor and Continental GT, mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch.
This powerplant churns out about 48 Ps of power at 7,250 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm, 80% of which is delivered as early as 2,500 rpm.
As of this writing, we can’t say which of the two bikes above will be launched by MSI this October and we're only speculating since both the Guerilla and the Shotgun are already available in India. But whatever it is, it’ll be exciting times ahead for the motorcycle community.
