CFMOTO officially launches the 1000MT-X at EICMA
I still vividly remember when Motostrada, the official Philippine distributor of CFMOTO, surprised everyone with the unannounced launch of the 800MT-X in October last year, during the same event that introduced the 500SR VOOM, 675SR-R, and 150SC. Personally, the 800MT-X feels like the “stepbrother” of KTM’s 790 Adventure R, especially considering that many of KTM’s models are co-developed or sourced from CFMOTO’s facilities in China.
Now, CFMOTO is stepping up its adventure bike game with the debut of the 1000MT-X—the “bigger brother” to the 800MT-X—unveiled at the 2025 EICMA.

800MT-X, but with a 'bigger' engine
On paper, the new CFMOTO 1000MT-X closely mirrors its ‘smaller’ sibling, the 800MT-X, sharing the same chassis, dimensions, wheelbase, seat height, and even a 22.5-liter fuel tank. It also retains the same front and rear suspension setup, brake rotors, wheel sizes, electronic riding aids, and LED lighting, making it nearly identical in form, well, at least at first glance.
Where it truly sets itself apart is in its new 946.2cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which delivers 113 PS at 8,500 rpm and 105 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. The 1000MT-X also gains a slightly larger 8-inch vertical TFT display with smartphone connectivity for improved functionality and visibility. It tips the scales slightly heavier than the 800MT-X, with a wet weight of 222 kilograms.

Philippine pricing and availability remain under wraps for now, but given CFMOTO’s knack for surprises, could we be in for another unannounced launch soon? This time, for the bigger and bolder MT-X? Enthusiasts will surely be watching closely.
