The LTO orders organizers of BOSS Ironman Motorcycle Challenge to cease and desist
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has moved to resolve the cases involving a number of participants and the organizer of the BOSS Ironman Motorcycle Challenge Mindanao Cup that was held between January 30 and February 1, 2026.
According to LTO, of the 32 drivers issued Show Cause Orders (SCOs), 17 were sternly warned, 14 were suspended for three months, and one was disqualified from acquiring a driver’s license for one year.
The penalties stemmed from violations including speeding, reckless driving, and improper overtaking. The LTO says that these offenses pose serious risks and endanger public safety. The agency also noted that sanctions were imposed on individuals who failed to attend their scheduled hearings.
The LTO has also issued a cease and desist order against the BMW Owners Society of Saferiders (BOSS), prohibiting the group from organizing similar activities in the future.
“This Office orders [the organizers] to cease and desist from organizing or conducting any dangerous, unsafe, and unsanctioned motor vehicle races, rallies, endurance challenges, or similar large-scale timed motor vehicle activities on public highways effective immediately, this 25th day of February 2026.”
In a February 4, 2026, statement, BOSS said that it shares the concerns raised by the public and said that safety remains its highest priority.
BOSS also adds that 100% of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the underprivileged.
